Flu Vaccinations 2011-2012

Updated 1/10/12

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now recommend a yearly flu vaccination for everyone age 6 months and older as the first and most important step in protecting against the flu.  You should get the vaccine as soon as it becomes available.  The vaccine’s protection will last throughout the flu season.

This year’s vaccine will protect against the main flu strains that are expected to cause the most illness this season, including an H3N1 virus, an influenza B virus, and the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus.  The vaccine is administered either by an injection (shot) or in a nasal spray format.

For the most up-to-date information, including why you should be vaccinated, who should be vaccinated, when to get your vaccination, risks, reactions, flu symptoms, and the differences between the shot and nasal spray, click here to visit the CDC’s web page.

We expect our vaccine shipments to arrive throughout August and September.  Below are the HealthPoint practices that currently have a supply.  We will update our website as shipments are received.  Please do not call your physician’s office to schedule a vaccination until their office name is listed below.  Thank you.

For more information, please click on the vaccine type or contact your physician's office.
