Dr. Lee C. Kirkman, President

HealthPoint Medical Group

As president of HealthPoint Medical Group, Dr. Lee Kirkman brings to this position the vision of a strong medical group affiliated with St. Joseph's-Baptist Health Care to establish the leading integrated health care delivery system in the Tampa Bay area.

He provides a key role in the leadership of HealthPoint Medical Group, assisting in the development of clinical policies and procedures, protocols, and Board Committees. Dr. Kirkman also practices as an Internist and Hospitalist at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He has been in private practice in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease and has been on the St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Staff since 1981. His administrative experiences have included numerous board and committee appointments, Chief of Medicine, and involvement with medical quality improvement and physician peer review issues.

Dr. Kirkman is a native of Utah where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah. He received his M.D. from the University of Alabama with honors in 1974. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Washington in 1981 and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease.

Sherry Dorsey, President
HealthPoint Management Services, Inc.

Sherry Dorsey is the President of HealthPoint Management Services, Inc., and Administrator of HealthPoint Medical Group, Inc. HealthPoint Management Services now employs approximately 300 practice site, business office and corporate staff, supporting over 75 physicians, including HealthPoint Medical Group. Ms. Dorsey provides critical leadership for HealthPoint Management Services and leads the team charged with successfully supporting the administrative functions of a group practice.

In 1999, 2000 and 2002, HealthPoint Medical Group was recognized as a "Better Performing Practice" by the nationally known Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). In 2001, HealthPoint Management Services was selected as the Best Management Service Company for the central Florida region by Florida Medical Business Journal, and in 2000, Ms. Dorsey was voted "Best Group Practice Administrator in Tampa Bay."

In 1999 Ms. Dorsey was appointed to the Hillsborough County Health Care Advisory Board, lending her experience to the leadership of Hillsborough County's nationally acclaimed program for providing healthcare to low-income residents. She has over 15 years group practice administration, and is a Certified Member of the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Her background includes extensive experience in the optimization of business operations systems through accountability, controls and workflow design.

Prior to joining HealthPoint, Ms. Dorsey was administrator for a family practice group and an OB-GYN practice associated with Tampa General Hospital. Before coming to Tampa, she was Assistant Administrator of Business Operations at The Emory Clinic in Atlanta, Georgia.  She was responsible for business operations, including accounts receivable management, patient registration and information systems for 325 multi-specialty physicians. She began her career in Information Systems consulting and worked on several health care systems implementation projects. Ms. Dorsey graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama with a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

Dr. Patrick T. Cimino, Medical Director
HealthPoint Medical Group

Dr. Cimino joined HealthPoint in 1999 with extensive experience in the Managed Care industry. Prior to joining HealthPoint he was the Medical Director for Aetna US Healthcare in their Tampa Network, where he helped achieve a successful three-year NCQA accreditation. Other past experiences include five years experience in a staff model HMO, working in the Hillsborough County Health Department, and a multi-specialty group. He received his Masters in Public Health at the University of South Florida and is an Assistant Professor in the College of Public Health with an interest in Health Law and Medical Ethics.

After his Sophomore year in college at the University of Notre Dame, he ventured to Peru to study culture in South America. Knowing that he wanted to attend medical school, he spent his time in Peru working with handicapped children and volunteering in a dehydration clinic. In addition to his premed studies at Notre Dame, he received a B.A. in Political Science. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Florida Medical School at Gainesville and completed his Family Practice Residency in Gainesville. He is Board Certified in Family Practice and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians.

What attracted Dr. Cimino to HealthPoint was its progress in the Tampa Bay area. He found that he enjoyed the clinical side of healthcare, and wanted to stay in Tampa where he was raised. He found the perfect match at HealthPoint. His goals for HealthPoint include strengthening the Group's identity and taking advantage of a large group setting to improve quality.
