The St Joseph’s Hospitals Foundation honored HealthPoint’s Cameron Tebbi, M.D. at their “15th Annual Stepping Out Gala” on March 1, 2008. Dr. Tebbi was recognized as one of three distinguished Physicians of the Year, for his support and dedication to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital of Tampa.

The event, held at the Hyatt Regency, Downtown Tampa, included dinner, dancing and live entertainment from The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards.
Dr. Cameron Tebbi is Board Certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tehran. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and two fellowships – one in pediatric oncology at M.D. Anderson Hospital and the other in pediatric hematology/oncology at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. In addition, he has been a laboratory research fellow at the Ontario Cancer Institute. Prior to his present position as medical director of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Research Laboratories at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital of Tampa and physician at HealthPoint Medical Group, he was the director of the Adolescent Unit at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Dr. Tebbi is a full member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the National Cancer Institute. He has edited two books and authored over 300 articles and abstracts. Dr Tebbi is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, International Union Against Cancer, Children’s Oncology Group, American Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Florida Association of Pediatric Tumor Programs, Histiocyte Society and the International Society of Pediatric Oncology. He serves on the board of the Florida Chapter of the American Cancer Society, Children’s Cancer Center and Children’s Cancer Research Group. He is listed in Marquis’ “Who’s Who in America” and Castle Connolly’s “America’s Top Doctors for Cancer.”
