Michael C. Burnette, MD is Board Certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and served his internship and Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He completed a Fellowship in Rheumatology-Immunology at the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston.
Dr. Burnette has authored many articles on osteoporosis, arthritis and arthritis-related diseases. He frequently gives presentations to other physicians about new drugs in the field of Rheumatology. He has also served as a Principal Investigator in clinical trials for arthritis, lupus, osteoarthritis, gout and other rheumatoid diseases. His dedication to excellence has been recognized by US News and World Report, who ranked him among the top 10% of physicians in the United States, in their peer-nominated “Top Doctor” list.
Dr. Burnette’s clinical interests include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Osteoarthritis, and Gout. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, Florida Medical Association, Hillsborough County Medical Association and on the Medical Advisory Board of the Lupus Foundation of Tampa.
